The 2nd annual Greene County Schools BOOST Bash will be held this Saturday, March 30, at the Wild Rose Casino. Doors open at 5 pm with meal beginning at 6:30 and a live auction to follow. The evening is composed of social time, a dinner, a recognition of staff of Greene County CSD, a silent auction and a live auction.
BOOST – Bringing Opportunities & Optimism for our Students & Teachers – had more than 300 attendees and raised over $50,000 in its first year, and the committee plans an even bigger event in 2019.
Proceeds from the inaugural event funded dozens of projects and events, ranging from fields trips to elementary reading materials to a nursing skills mannequin for the high school CNA class. In total, nearly four dozen projects were funded. Additionally, funds were provided for every teacher in the district to use in their classrooms.
Although tickets are sold out, those unable to attend can still participate in the silent auction through the committee’s mobile bidding platform. Go to www.boostgreenecountyschools.com to sign up for online bidding. The silent auction will open on Friday, March 29, at 5 pm and finish during the event.
BOOST is a 501(c)3 organization and all donations are tax deductible. Cash donations are also being accepted through the website or by mailing a check to Greene County Schools BOOST, P.O. Box 4, Jefferson, IA 50129. Checks should be made out to Greene County Educational Foundation with “BOOST” in the memo line.
